Delete Your WireHand Account
Last Updated: October 9, 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in WireHand, the field-tools app for electricians published by Jairo Hernandez, and what happens to your data.
Option 1 — Delete From Inside the App
- Open WireHand
- Tap Profile
- Tap Delete my account
- Optionally tell us why you are leaving
- Type DELETE to confirm
- Tap Delete account
You will see the date your account will be permanently deleted. Tap Done to sign out.
Option 2 — Request Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app, email support@wirehand.app from the email address on your account, or include the mobile phone number associated with your account.
Subject: Delete my WireHand account
We verify your identity using the phone number on the account before processing the request. We confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete verified requests within 30 days. We will confirm by email when the deletion is scheduled and when it is complete.
What Happens When You Delete
The 7-day grace period
When you confirm deletion, your account enters a 7-day grace period.
- Your data is not yet destroyed, and your profile is never visible to other users
- You can sign back in during these 7 days; the app shows an "Account scheduled for deletion" notice
- You can recover your account at any time during these 7 days
To cancel the deletion:
- Open WireHand and sign in with your phone number and verification code
- Tap Cancel deletion on the notice
Or email support@wirehand.app from the address on your account.
After 7 days, a daily deletion job permanently deletes your sign-in account and everything linked to it. This normally happens within 24 hours after the grace period ends and cannot be undone.
What gets deleted
Everything associated with your account:
- Your name, phone number, and email address
- Your profile: trade role, city and state, experience, license, headline, bio
- Your skills, certifications, and work projects
- The date you confirmed you are 18 or older
- Your pay calculations and pay stub scan results
- Tool data you saved, such as PullSheet panels and circuits
- Your SMS consent record and your AI consent record
- The link between you and your pay stub scan usage log
Things we never had, so there is nothing to delete:
- Your date of birth. We check it to confirm you are 18 or older and discard it.
- Pay stub images. They are processed and not stored by WireHand.
- Your resume PDFs. They are created on your device. Files you downloaded or shared are on your device or wherever you shared them; delete those yourself.
What Is Retained, and Why
| Retained | Period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Account deletion record: user ID, phone number, the optional reason you gave, request and completion dates | 90 days, then anonymized (the phone number is removed and any reason is reduced to a general category) | To evidence that the deletion was performed and to prevent fraud |
| Pay stub scan usage log, with the link to you removed | Kept without any link to you | Feature, amount of processing used, and time, for our cost records |
| Backups | Up to 7 days, then overwritten | Disaster recovery. Not accessible for ordinary use |
Crash diagnostics and anonymous usage events are configured to exclude personal information, are not linked to your account, and are deleted by our error monitoring provider after 30 days.
We may also keep information if the law requires it, for example to respond to a valid legal request.
Data held by our service providers
- Twilio (SMS codes). Twilio may keep records of verification messages sent to your number under its own retention rules.
- Anthropic (AI provider). If you used the pay stub scanner, Anthropic processed the image without using it to train its models and deletes it within 30 days under its commercial terms, except where a longer period is required to enforce its usage policies or by law.
Before You Delete
Download your resume first. Your profile, resume data, and history cannot be recovered after the grace period ends.
